Description

Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy is an attachment and neuroscience-based intervention that is focused on helping children and families develop healing relationships to counteract the negative sequelae of experiences such as abuse and neglect.

DDP is based on the principles of Attachment Theory and Intersubjectivity Theory. DDP uses interpersonal neurobiology to support children to feel secure in their parent-child relationship and to resolve early traumatic experiences. Participants will learn how to create the necessary emotional safety with parents and children and learn how DDP principles can be applied effectively whether in a psychotherapy, practice or parenting capacity. Participants will be guided through discussions and role play to embed knowledge into practice. This training is relevant for therapists and clinicians who want to increase their understanding and use of attachment focused treatment for children and parents. This is phase one of certification in DDP.
