Strategic Plan

The George Hull Centre is committed to providing quality service and space for both clients and employees to thrive.

The George Hull Centre regards each child as an individual, a member of a family and a member of the community. We work in partnership with families and children, with other community services and with community groups to improve the mental health of the children and youth of Toronto.

The Centre works to develop an accessible, flexible and responsive continuum of service delivery for the community, and to provide specialized services for the Greater Toronto Area, as mandated.

A commitment to gender equality, cultural sensitivity and accessible economic opportunities provides an organizing framework to the philosophy of the Centre. The Centre takes into account imbalances of power as they exist in the culture and as they affect the lives of children, and advocates accordingly on behalf of marginalized groups.

Our 2021-23 Strategic Priorities

The George Hull Centre will pursue four strategic priorities over the next three years, supported by four strategic enablers.

Lower Barriers to Care | We will measurably reduce barriers that prevent clients from receiving care.

Our goals include:

  • Establishing a virtual care framework.
  • Increasing access to services across our geographic areas.
  • Reducing wait-times for service to ensure clients and families receive care when they need it most.

One Client, Once Centre | We will function as one cohesive, integrated centre for the wellness of our clients.

We will do this by establishing:

  • An integrated technology infrastructure to support virtual offerings, including therapy, groups and training.
  • Formal cross-disciplinary case management to support collaborative care for all clients.

Become a Leading Voice | We will become known as a leading voice of expertise and care in our communities.

We will do this by:

  • Investing in our people and developing  passionate advocates.
  • Investing in the Institute of Childhood Trauma and Attachment.
  • Sharing our methods, as well as partnering on research and training initiatives to strengthen the sector’s knowledge and expertise.

Diversity that Reflects our Community | The staff and clients of the George Hull Centre will increasingly reflect the surrounding communities.

We will do this by:

  • Identifying and addressing systemic bias.
  • Focusing attention on the black community.
  • Ensuring our Centre reflects the community it serves.
