Concurrent Groups for Children/Youth & Parents

As the parent of a child or youth dealing with a mental health issue, we know that both you and your child need support towards coping and healing.

CBT Anxiety Group

The CBT Anxiety Group is for children ages 9 to 12. It’s a valuable treatment group if your child experiences issues with anxious/nervous feelings, thoughts or physical sensations.  The goals of the group include recognizing the symptoms of anxiety, learning alternate patterns of thinking/feeling, relaxation techniques and exposure.

CBT, or Cognitive-Based Therapy, is a proven and effective treatment for anxiety. This program runs parallel to a parent Anxiety Group, attended by all parents whose children attend this group.

“Meeting other people who have anxiety made me feel like I was not the only person with anxiety.”

– Child

“The facilitator was spectacular in her calm and generous manner, but it was her knowledge and ability to support the group that was so helpful.”

 – Parent

Please note: Potential participants are assessed to determine their readiness for group work. We regret that no childcare is available at this time.

Baby Love

Baby Love is an attachment-based program for parents and caregivers of infants from 4 months to 16 months old.  Caregivers learn about their babies’ minds, how to help their babies feel secure, how to help their babies deal with stress, and how to deal with their own feelings of stress, anxiety, sadness and depression or anger.  Babies who are secure grow up having better relationships, learn better in school, and have better physical and mental health.
