The staff believe in finding family strengths and promoting positive outcomes for children and adolescents through comprehensive assessment, consultation and treatment.
The Day Treatment Program offers academic and therapeutic programming to 40 children and youth in 5 classrooms. Two of these classrooms are for students in grades 6-8, and are located at Dixon Grove Junior Intermediate School, and three of the classrooms are for students in grades 9-12 and are located at Western Technical Commercial School.
The youth who attend the George Hull Centre Day Treatment Program are clients of Libby’s Place residential program, the Intensive In-Home Service, or the Community Clinic.
The youth who participate in the Day Treatment Program have countless strengths and unlimited potential, and live with moderate to severe mental health challenges. Many of the students have learning difficulties as well. All of our students benefit from the small class sizes (only up to 8 students per class), and the individualized academic and therapeutic environment at the program. In addition, all of our students and their families participate in regular family therapy, which represents an integral part of the treatment experience. Typically, our students are enrolled in the Day Treatment Program for one school year.
If you are a youth, up to 18 years of age, or their parent or guardian, you can submit a referral for yourself or on behalf of someone else for intensive services (day treatment, live-in treatment or intensive in home treatment) to Help Ahead. Help Ahead will receive your request and can call your client or their family directly to discuss suitable options based on their needs and begin the intake process with them. If you have questions about available options for service, you can also phone Help Ahead at 1 866 585‑6486 or email us at helpahead@stridestoronto.ca
“I like the fact that in this program nobody judges you, like all the teachers and staff understand your situation and are there to help you succeed.”

“In my opinion, being able to get close to the teachers on an emotional level helps greatly… This program helps students learn about the true person they are and helps students grow and succeed in their future education and career.”
