FGC Coordinator Training

The FGC Coordinator Training Program is an intensive interactive learning experience that is delivered in-person over three consecutive days or virtually by videoconference for six modules over a three to four week period. In-person Trainings may be held in Toronto or in other communities in Ontario, depending on demand.


Applicants complete the FGC Coordinator Application Package and submit to the Provincial Resource Office.

Applications are reviewed and applicants are approved based on the match of their skills and experience with the selection criteria. Approved applicants register for and complete the FGC Coordinator Training Program, which qualifies the applicant to apply for the FGC Mentorship.

Professional Development Events for FGC Coordinators and Community

The Provincial Resource organizes professional development opportunities for FGC Coordinators to support the practice of FGC across the province, focusing on skill development, model integrity and issues of common interest.

 
Professional Development events offered by the Provincial Resource include:
  • On-line live webinars facilitated by FGC Coordinators, FGC Mentors and/or other community professionals.
  • Monthly on-line group case consultation meetings for FGC Coordinators facilitated by FGC Mentors.
  • Annual or semi-annual  professional development days for FGC Coordinators and Mentors and members of the FGC community, such as our child welfare partners.

Community Information and Orientation to FGC and Program Consultation

The Provincial Resource Office can assist in arranging half day or whole day tailored presentations addressing general FGC information, organizational support, community and capacity building for Family Group Conferencing for staff and decision makers in child welfare and other community agencies.


Consultation for ADR Service Delivery Agencies regarding their FGC service can also be organized through the Provincial Resource Office.
